What do the Parameters Mean?

Leukocytes: The detection of white blood cells in the urine suggests a possible UTI.
Expected result : Negative
Nitrite: Screening for possible asymptomatic infections caused by nitrate-reducing bacteria – Suggesting a possible UTI. Note: These two parameters (Leukocytes and Nitrite) are commonly used to screen for possible Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

Expected result : Negative
Urobilinogen: the presence of excreted urobilinogen suggests a possible deterioration of liver functions. Urobilinogen is the breakdown product of bilirubin

Expected result: less than 17 µmol/l (< 1mg/dl)
Protein: This test is usually run to screen for kidney disease. Protein in the urine is called Proteinuria.

Expected result: Negative
pH: Measures the acidity in your urine which may be a sign of kidney stones. Your pH varies during the day going from more acid in the am to more alkaline in the pm.

Blood: Blood in the urine is called hematuria. A number of things can cause hematuria including UTI, Kidney infection, medication, menstruation, strenuous exercise

Bilirubin: The detection of Bilirubin in the urine is an early indication of liver disease. Bilirubin is the breakdown product of hemoglobin. Note: These two parameters (Urobilinogen and Bilirubin) are commonly used to screen for possible liver disease.

Glucose: Glucose in the urine could indicate diabetes or renal glycosuria.

Creatinine: Creatinine values that fall outside the normal range may be an indication of:kidney disease,kidney infection,kidney failure,urinary tract obstruction, such as kidney stones,late-stage muscular dystrophy,myasthenia gravis.

Ascorbic acid(Vitamin C): 1. Urine vitamin C is reduced, which is common in vitamin C intake or scurvy.
2. The long-term increase of urine vitamin C may be related to the formation of kidney stones.
3. In the urine analysis test paper, the vitamin C test paper can also determine the degree of influence of vitamin C in the urine on other test papers.

 

Microalbumin: Its presence can be a sign of kidney disease.

Calcium: evaluating whether high calcium levels in the urine resulted in the development of a kidney stone; evaluating whether your dietary intake of calcium is high enough;evaluating how well your intestines are absorbing calcium;detecting conditions that lead to calcium loss from your bones; evaluating how well your kidneys are functioning; looking for problems with the parathyroid gland

The reagent test areas on the strips are ready to use upon removal from the bottle and the entire reagent strip is disposable. The strips can be read visually, requiring no additional laboratory equipment for testing or read by Urine Analyzers W-200B, WX-100 and W-600 Models.
