Our ground mustard powder is made of very finely ground mustard
seeds. There is no wheat flour added, and it is just pure mustard seed
ground to the consistency of flour. It can be used as the basis of many
mustard recipes, including traditional English Mustard.
An important note regarding dry mustards: Dry
mustard by itself has no flavor or taste. It must be combined with water
to release the essential oil which gives it flavor. Room-temperature
tap water works best in this role. Just mix the dry mustard flour with
plain water and allow it to sit for 5 or 10 minutes to develop flavor.
Then you can add other things, such as vinegar, beer, or wine to modify
the base flavor.
